Every image is carefully selected and chosen to be a part of the final product. These images are edited and retouched to ensure that it is of optimal quality. A photo is much like a building that needs foundations, and then upon further development needs refurbishing and refinement.

 

Editing requires the skill of subtlety, where one must attempt to enhance an image without it clearly appearing to be photoshopped or retouched. There is a vast amount of retouching that goes on behind the scenes that is more than your basic "Fix up the colours and all is done!"

As you can see by the image to the right, time and effort has gone into colour correction, skin correction, enhancement of tones and shadow, alterations of form/colour, and so forth.
